Day 1: Trivandrum - Kovalam
Arrive at airport get greeted and assisted by our airport counter
staff, Board the
cab and head to Kovalam on arrival check in beach
resort. Kovalam was ones the fishing village and today the "Paradise
of the South", Kovalam is about 16 kms away from Thiruvananthapuram
the capital of Kerala and brought to the public eye by the Maharaja
of Travancore, it is a natural bay free from high waves and surges.
Kovalam has three successive crescent shaped beaches and Ayurvedic
massage and yoga centers take the day off and enjoy the good sleep
after a good massage.
Day 2: Kovalam
Morning after breakfast head for local tour of Kovalam. Kovalam
means a grove of coconut trees and the coconut trees along the
beaches gives it a true meaning. Enjoy fruit and toddy (coconut
beer). When you are tired of aquatics, swimming or sunbathing, you
can explore the handicrafts, jewellery and cloth shops spread by the
waterfront. Do not forget the delicious sea-food fare which has
lobsters and is available at the beachside restaurants. In evening
the quiet atmosphere of the place is spirited by Kathakali
performances, the classical dance-drama of Kerala.
Day 3: Kovalam – Kanyakumari
Morning after breakfast geared up and head towards the beautiful
Kanyakumari. Captivating Kanyakumari, the southern most end of Tamil
Nadu the lands end of India is one of the most popular tourist
sports of the country. Kanyakumari is associated with goddess Kumari
the virgin, Kanyakumari (Cape Comorin). Kanyakumari has become a
busy pilgrimage centre dedicated to the goddess Devi Kanya an
incarnation of Parvathi this land has great spiritual significance
for hindus. The place is named after the virgin goddess Parvathi who
waited for her consort lord Shiva to come and claim her hand in
marriage at the end of the earth. Pay homage to the famous
Kumariamma Temple, enjoy the boat ride and visit the Vivekananda
rock enjoy the cool breeze of Arabian Sea, visit the Gandhi
(Memorial) Mandapam, Guganathaswami Temple, Government Museum,
Olakkay Aruvi (Waterfalls), Kumarak Koil, Gulf of Mannar Marine
National Park. Evening check in the resort and take rest for the
day.
Day 4: Kanyakumari – Alleppey
Morning after breakfast check out and head towards Alleppey. Board
the cab and proceed towards Alleppey. With the Arabian Sea on the
west and a vast network of lakes lagoons and fresh water rivers
criss-crossing it’s Alappuzha (Alleppey). It is the district of
immense natural beauty. Also referred as the Venice of the East from
the travelers across the world, this backwater country is also
habitation for lots of wild animal and bird life. Visit Kuttanad
which is also called as rice bowel of Kerala because of the wealth
of paddy crops, is at the very heart of the backwaters then visit
Alappuzha beach, Sea View Park, Pathiramanal, Ambalappuzha,
Mannarasala, Chettikulangara Bhagavathy Temple Mavelikkara,
Krishnapuram Palace and over night stay at Alleppey.
Day 5: Alleppey – House boat
Morning after breakfast proceeds to the deluxe house boat for a
24hrs Kerala back water cruise covering Kumarakom and Alleppey back
waters. Each houseboat is well constructed and has luxurious
furnishing with exquisite flooring, hall and valavara (canopy).
These are one of top cruise. With a sun deck, spacious living /
dining area, with attached toilets. Houseboat is usually managed by
a crew, comprising a cook, a guide and oarsman. While aboard you can
avail similar facilities offered in a star hotel. Enjoy the exotic,
spicy Kerala food served inside the house boat and enjoy the
overnight stay.
Day 6: House boat – Munnar
After morning breakfast drive to Munnar. Munnar us a beautiful
peaceful hill station covered with unending expanse of tea
plantation. Munnar is 120km away from Cochin with an altitude
ranging from 1600 to 1800 meters above sea level. On arrival at
Munnar check in resort rest of the day is leisure and over night
stay.
Day 7: Munnar
Morning after breakfast at hotel proceed for a full day local tour
of Munnar visit Pothanmedu for an excellent view of plantation,
Pallivasal, Nyayamakad water falls the visit Top station it is one
of the major attraction of Munnar it is 1700meters above sea level
from hear we get a panoramic view of Kodaikanal later visit
Eravikulam – Rajamalai Wild life sanctuary, Mudapetty Dam,
Sandalwood Forest, Mattupetty, Devikulam, enjoy various Trekking
areas, evening return back to hotel and over night stay at Munnar.
Day 8: Munnar – Cochin
Morning after breakfast at hotel drive to Cochin. Check in the
Cochin hotel. Cochin is the commercial and industrial capital of
Kerala and it is also called as Kochi, Queen of the Arabian Sea.
Informally, Cochin is also referred to as the Gateway to Kerala.
This district is located on the coast of the Arabian Sea with
Kottayam and Alappuzha district on the south Idukki on the east and
Thissur on the north. With its health of historical associates and
its setting on a cluster of islands and narrow peninsulas the city
of Kochi perfectly reflects the eclecticism of Kerala. Fresh up and
proceed for a half day local tour of Cochin visit the some of the
major attraction visit the outstanding Bolghatty Island which is
famous for its palace with the same name “Bolghatty Palace” ,
Chennamangalam, houses the oldest synagogue in Kerala , get back to
the hotel and unwind your day with a good night sleep.
Day 9: Cochin
Morning after breakfast have a day off, treasure the memory of your
stay. At afternoon head towards Cochin Airport to board the flight
for onward destination. |
