Day 01 Colombo:
On arrival at the Colombo International Airport, you will be
escorted by our tour
representative
towards the hotel. Colombo is the largest and the commercial capital
of Sri Lanka. It is a city with a mixture of modern life and
colonial ruins. The word Colombo was introduced by the Portuguese,
which means “Port on the river Kelani”. Check in hotel and later on
move out for the local tour of Colombo. Visit the Fort, the Old
Parliament House, Buddhist temples, Old Churches, Hindu temples,
Mosques, the National Museum, Independence Hall, Bandaranaike
Memorial International Conference Hall and the Zoological Gardens.
Later on return back to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 02 Colombo - Sigiriya:
Morning after breakfast drive towards Sigiriya which is one of
the famous tourist destinations in Sri Lanka. On reaching Sigiriya
check in hotel and later move out to enjoy climbing the Sigiriya
rock. It mainly contains the ruins of the ancient palace. The
Sigiriya rock stands high above the surrounding plains. It is a huge
boulder rock which is converted into a castle amidst a walled and
moated city. On the western and northern sides of the steep rock,
runs a gallery. Shielding this gallery is a plaster wall in which
one can see one's reflection hence its called as the0020Mirror Wall.
The beautiful and famous paintings have covered the western face of
the Sigiriya rock. The miniature water garden, The boulder garden
and The Terrace Garden are the major tourist attraction. Later in
the evening drive back to the hotel for a night stay.
Day 03 Sigiriya – Kandy:
Morning
after breakfast drive towards Kandy – the hill capital of Sri Lanka.
It is the last royal capital of Sri Lanka which is one of the major
tourist attractions. On reaching Kandy check in hotel and later on
move out for the local tour of Kandy. It is also called as the
cultural capital of the island. It is well known for “The Temple of
the Tooth” – the most scared Buddhist establishment in Srilanka,
where one of Buddha’s tooth is being kept. Visit the The Temple of
Tooth, The Old Royal Palace compound, Gadaladeniya Temple, The Royal
Botanical Gardens, Embekke Temples, Lankatilaka Temple, Hindu
Shrines and others. Late in the evening return back to the hotel for
a night stay.
Day 04 Kandy – Pinnawela:
Morning after breakfast drive towards Pinnawela – the elephant
orphanage, which is situated in the northwest of the town Kegalla.
This is 24 acre land where one can find atleast 50-75 elephants
roaming freely. The main purpose of this orphanage is to feed, nurse
and house young elephants. Later on drive towards the Colombo
International Airport to board your flight to the onwards
destination. |
