Corbett National Park: Along the banks of
the river Ramganga Corbett Park is one of the finest national
sanctuary. It stretches over an area of 525

.8 sq. kms. And situated
at an altitude of 400 to 1100 mts. This park is located in the
foothills of the Shivalik range. It is named after the famous
hunter, author, conservationist and naturalist Jim Corbett who spent
a major part of his life in the Kumaon region. Under the Project
Tiger it has now been made a Tiger Reserve. The park abounds in
Tiger, Panther, Bear, Gharial, Crocodile, Swamp Deer, Cheetal, Hog
Deer, Barking Deer, Porcupine, Python, Boar, Hyena, Rhesus Monkey,
and a large variety of birds. For the angler from Assistant Warden
Dhakila at a nominal fee but shooting with firearm is strictly
prohibited. The best season to visit here is from January to May.
The park remains open to visitors from second week of November to
May.

Park Safari Timings: The Park normally opens at 0600 hrs in
the morning and is open till about 1100 hrs in the morning. In the
afternoon the park timings usually are from 1430 to 1730. However
depending on the season the timings change locally which the forest
authorities of Corbett notify.
