1. Raheem Residency Hotel Alleppey 4 ****
Location: Raheem Residency, located at an undeveloped Kerala
beach, is an 1868 colonial villa which has been lovingly restored in
a rich, classical Indian style by its Indo-European owners.
Accommodation: In the main house there are six A/C spacious
high-ceilinged
bedrooms with traditional Kerala furniture such as
Raheem’s father’s four-poster bed bought as a wedding gift in 1930.
Bathrooms are ensuite and include one which is open to the skies the
large hall has a high teakwood ceiling which had been concealed for
generations. The windows have glass shutters inside, wooden shutters
outside and fan lights with the original stained glass. The
furniture is rich and traditional.
We also have a Superior Twin Room (with a small adjoining single
room) in an independent unit a short distance from the Main House.
This unit can be used as a Family Suite or as a Superior Twin. It
was restored from outhouses used to store coconuts!
Facility: Swimming Pool: The Apple Pool, named after the
Velvet Apple tree in the courtyard, is a 14.7 metre pool imported
from France.
Outdoor Room: An elevated space with hammocks and garden
furniture for lazing around in.
Library: A small but ever growing collection of books, mainly
of Indian interest eg Indian literature in English, classic Indian
texts, travel books.
Yoga: An integrated mind/body system that calms the mind is
available morning and evenings.
Ayurveda: Ayurveda, a 5000 year old system of holistic
medicine which originated in Kerala is practiced in our house by a
qualified team of doctors and technicians. We offer Rejuvenation and
Longevity Programmes, slimming programmes and natural herbal beauty
treatments. We also offer one-to-one or small group introductory
courses on Ayurveda and nutrition.
The Ayurveda Suite consists of separate massage rooms for ladies and
gentlemen, each with attached hot shower bathrooms.
2. Hotel Marari Beach Alleppey 3***
Location: Resort
Accommodation: The Marari Beach offers 52 thatched
air-conditioned villas modeled on the huts in the nearby village
with all premium comforts. The rooms have been built in the style of
a traditional fishing village. Each villa has a small private garden
area. There is also a deluxe villa, which has the same facilities
plus a separate sitting area and its own private swimming pool.

the Punnamada Lake is luxurious. Spread out over a wide expanse of

Location: Kayaloram is 15 minutes off Alleppey town and is
accessible by road and water.
Accommodation: Accommodation at Kayaloram is ethnic Kerala.
Independent Tharavads (ancient Kerala houses) offering 12 bed rooms
and all amenities. The Tharavads have been painstakingly
re-assembled from the original, using only wood, bricks and tiles.
Even most door hinges are wood. A unique feature of these Tharavads
is the bathrooms with open to sky roofs, offering you a communion
with nature.
Facility: Kayaloram offers a full fledged restaurant serves
typical kerala cuisine as well as continental. Backwater cruises
along the quaint canals criss crossing Alleppey on motor boats and
